I might add that some of our songs are like the above description, but some are also a little jazzy and some a little rock and roll. I know it would be great if we could define ourselves to just one genre, but it''s such a big, wide world out there!
"I used to be a political songwriter," says Sara. "Then one day, after numerous protests and seeing that even in the most liberal of towns, the corporations always won, I decided I needed to focus on the positive aspects of life and my own emotional comprehension of it. For now, that seems to be the best I can do to make a positive statement in the world. Even our song, It''s a Cold Hard World is just a spoof. We''re having fun. Terry started writing when going through a breakup with his wife. It was good therapy."

We''ve got me singing and Terry playing funky country guitar; and we''ve added a pedal steel (Gerald Carey and some keyboards (Dennis Alstrand). We have a drummer of our very own now (instead of always having a guest). Roger is ever competent on bass and engineering. We have also brought in several guest musicians, including Tony Selvage on violin, Mitch Satterfield on saxophone, and Amy Busek and Joy McLuer (see Spirits in the Rock at CDBaby) on background vocals. With all the talent, you''d think that egos would get in the way; but we rarely see that happen. Even though we wander through the folk, rock, pop, jazz, and country music scene, it''s still us-having fun and whimsically defining our selves.
