Details:
Singing since before he was born, Jathan Good''s vocal talent is now being unleashed into the public with the release of his debut EP, Just The Beginning. Even the average listener will find him or herself being enticed by the warmth and honesty in Jathan''s baritone timbre. With a slightly closer listen you''ll find the maturity of James Taylor blended with the youthful edge of John Mayer.

His parents play a variety of instruments, both excelling on piano. Jathan''s mother has taught piano for more than 30 years. Although he only studied under her for one year at age five, he came back to the piano for three years of lessons in college. He picked up the guitar in seventh grade, though, and never looked back; teaching friends and acquaintances when money was tight. Jathan attended California State University, Northridge where he studied music, taking one year abroad in London to study the recording sciences and more, and graduated from Northridge with a degree in Music Industry Studies. After interning at Warner/Chappell Music Publishing, Jathan got a job at an independent record company called Foodchain Records, where he worked his way up to Product Manager.

In the spring of 2003 Jathan met producer Johnny K, and the two of them worked together to create Jathan''s first CD. Jathan called on the talents of his good friend Dan Franklin for two of the songs on Just The Beginning, which led to some lyrical and musical revision and excellent guitar and vocal additions.

With instrumentation consisting of only acoustic guitars and vocals, Just The Beginning reminds you that you don''t need a lot of noise to create a fulfilling sound. The production tastefully leaves room where it''s needed and yet builds to an impressive dynamic considering the absence of percussion. Listen to Just The Beginning and you''ll be left hoping that it truly is just the beginning of a long career for this talented young man. As one critic put it, "This CD sucks. It''s WAY too short!"

Listen and enjoy!
That''s why he''s here.
