Details:
J.D. Hall known as "the voice" because of his many voice-overs in films, television and documentaries, has turned his focus back to music.

A Muslim Imam, J.D. has merged his musical creativity with his religious beliefs by writing, performing and producing thirteen songs for his new CD, "Tawheed" (The Oneness of God) pronounced "Taou-heed." In so doing, he has created a new music genre that he calls "monotheistic praise songs." "The sub-title of the CD is Monotheistic Praise Songs Drawn From the Islamic, Jewish and Christian Tradition. "I think that best describes how I view these songs, the music has a contemporary feel while the lyrics reflect my spiritual evolution in Islam."

As an actor J.D. has assayed roles on stage in "Romeo & Juliet", directed by Sir Peter Hall, at LA''s Ahmanson Theatre; "The Darker Face of the Earth" by Pulitzer Prize winning, Poet Laureate, Rita Dove; appeared on numerous television shows and performed voice work for over 300 films, including the box-office hits "The Scorpion King" and "Undercover Brother", both for Universal; as well as Academy Award winner " Million Dollar Baby".

J.D. is also the voice of Frederick Douglas in the Lincoln Show and Brer Fox in the Splash Mountain ride, both at Disneyland-Anaheim as well the narrator for the Hall of Presidents at Disney World in Florida. J.D.''s voice can also be heard at The Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee.

In 1990, J. D. was selected from over 2,000 applicants to be a part of the inaugural group of writers in the Disney Studios Fellowship Program. He was a fellow for two years.

Additionally J. D. has carved out a place for himself in show business history when,
in 1983, he became the "First" Blackman to run for the Presidency of the Screen Actors Guild. Running against popular incumbent, Ed Asner, J.D. scored a respectable 20% of the vote.
