MP3 Jeordie - Can I Ask You Something?

Soulful accoustic female rock

12 MP3 Songs
POP: Folky Pop, ROCK: Americana

Details:
Jeordie has a new way of approaching music; it''s not ever set in stone. This was something she realized as the days of the Woodstock era, that she grew up listening to, phased into disco, the 80''s, and the new pop world.

Searching to find her place in the grand scheme of things, she writes straight from the heart, usually with a bit of pop flair.

Daughter of 60''s musical artist Melanie (Brand New Key, Lay Down, Beautiful People...) Jeordie had been performing alongside her mother and family from the age of five. Her family life always revolved around music. While it may have been a very gypsy kind of lifestyle, she wouldn''t have traded it for the world.

Jeordie didn''t fall too far from the tree. Like her mom, when it comes to her music, songs and live performances, she desires intimacy and undeniable vulnerability with her audience.

Singing alongside her mother and seeing the magic of a worldwide fan base, Jeordie''s goal is sharing her own music with audiences everywhere. And with some words of wisdom from her mom: "make music your life," she has set out to do just that.

At age eighteen, Jeordie and her sister Leilah recorded an album under the band name Safka. The album, Foreign Film was written up in Billboard and given rave reviews as an up and coming band. They later recorded About You, with their brother Beau Jarred. It was a wonderful experience for them. Jeordie believes it was working with her family that developed her own unique style as a writer and performer.

Jeordie has since performed at festivals, state fairs and arenas of all different sizes including The Kerrville Folk Festival Texas, 1998, A Day In The Garden Woodstock Reunion, as well as The Winnipeg Folk Fest, Canada. She has also recently performed as a support act for Dido, Jewel, Indigo Girls, and Sade.

Her sound is a modern mix of pop themes and folk guitar. Currently residing in Phoenix AZ., she is generating a growing base of listeners by remaining active in the Southwest music scene. She is currently unsigned and seeking publishing and label representation.

Like her mother, she has the ability to write a hit song. She has a catalog of music, that ranges from up beat and positive to introspective and melancholy. She especially has the ability to create visual imagery, through her lyrics, melodies and performances.

Jeordie has formed a duo with Jason Messer on lead guitar. He has been performing acoustically with the songstress for the last four years. The combo gives the stage an eclectic rock vibe. They each have unique styles and it''s come together magically.

Like most performers Jeordie loves to play for people that appreciate her music. So the best way to hear her is live.

Jeordie''s mission is to keep sending positive messages, as well as giving friendly advice, learned the hard way, through her song lyrics. Occasionally she''ll throw in an unsuspecting cover or two, or maybe even one of her mom''s, that she sang backup on for years.

Jeordie and her gang are true performer so, be warned they like to have fun on stage. No serious types please!!!
