Biography
Tahlia Scott, better known as Lady T is a promise; a promise to youth that hard work and a positive self-image lead to infinite success. In her debut album “This is me: Lady T”, she defies her past, set in the streets of Scarborough, by rendering a positive message of faith, growth and self acceptance.
At only 19 years old she has already composed numerous songs based on the reality of youth angst and the victory of overcoming them. Her motto “the past is what made me, but I determine what my future will be,” is evident in each of her songs.
Since the age of thirteen, Lady T has been dedicated to writing positive hip-hop songs that encourage, entertain and inspire. She has performed at numerous local venues including churches in the greater Toronto Area and Canada Christian College. She has been on the same stage with emerging artist such as Roshanna, The Campbell Sisters and Promise. Lady T, however, is in a league of her own, as she seeks to develop her music and reach young people who need to know they too can be a promise and much more than a possibility. Her unconventional way of mixing Christian rap, modern pop and rhythmic Caribbean flavor makes you want to pop, lock and drop even in the church.
Not one to shy away from a challenge, Lady T has decided to pursue her dreams in the music industry, proving once again that you need only, as she puts it on her CD “Do It”. Her CD comprised of 11 hit you between the eye tracks, including the singles “ I am a Promise and Do it” are sure to bring holy Hip Hop to the frontline.
Her message is unmistakable and her style encompasses thinking outside the box. Lady T is more than a promise or even a possibility; she embodies hope, strength and divine destiny.
