Details:
The Jets Overhead sound places classic songwriting virtues within a sweeping and hypnotic instrumental backdrop, with influences in the vein of Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Interpol, Doves, and The Mamas and The Papas.
The band''s debut self-titled EP was released in June 2003 and enjoyed a strong showing on the US CMJ charts, peaking at #42 on CMJ Core and receiving spins on Nic Harcourt''s "Morning Becomes Eclectic" on the influential LA station KCRW. Jets Overhead also released two videos, both of which received specialty play on The Wedge, the premiere alternative show on Canada''s national video channel, MuchMusic.
The band toured Canada, the US, the UK, and Ireland in support of the EP during 2003 and 2004, including shows with fellow Canadian acts such as The Dears, Stars, and Tegan and Sara.
Jets Overhead are now releasing their first full-length, which was produced by Neil Osborne (54*40) and mixed by Warne Livesey (Midnight Oil, Talk Talk, Matthew Good). Recorded earlier this year in Vancouver, BC, the 13-track album is titled "Bridges".
Originally formed in 2002, Jets Overhead is a five-piece based in Victoria, BC, Canada.
