Freddy Clarke,

Born in Fresno, California, Freddy studied classical guitar at San Francisco State University with Rani Cochran and privately with Rey De La Torre and Leo Brower.
He studied composition with Roger Nixon and Peter Sacco with an emphasis on form and technique. Igor Stravinski and John Cage are two influences who have helped shape his vision. Stravinski for his creative approach to unusual instrumental combinations and sonorities and John Cage for his fascination with random events superseding preconceived notions. The acoustic meets the electronic, taken from another place and time then reintegrated into the present. Freddy''s solo performances and original compositions have likened him to "the Kenny G of flamenco guitar", or as "Smashing Pumpkins meets Gypsy Kings".

Mads Tolling,

Mads Tolling grew up in Copenhagen, Denmark and moved to the U.S. at the age of 20 to pursue jazz studies. He studied under violinist Matt Glaser, and he graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2003. While still attending Berklee, the renowned jazz violinist Jean-Luc Ponty recommended Tolling to join Stanley Clarke’s band. Since then, he has performed more than 100 concerts with Clarke worldwide, including the Newport Jazz Festival and the Hollywood https://www.tradebit.com is the newest member of the Grammy Award-winning Turtle Island String Quartet. As violist with the quartet since 2003, he maintains an active touring and recording schedule as well as composing and giving master classes. As a soloist, he regularly tours as jazz violinist with the acclaimed bassist Stanley Clarke and his touring band. As part of Turtle Island Tolling won the Grammy for Best Classical Crossover album, “4+Four”. Tolling has received Denmark’s Sankt Annae’s Award for Musical Excellence as well as grants from Queen Margaret, the Sonning Foundation and the Berklee Elvin Jones Award. He has performed with Paquito d’Rivera, Kenny Barron Joe Lovano, Al DiMeola, Lenny White and The Assad Brothers.

Born in Devin, Rhodolpe Mountains, Bulgaria. Vassil studied at the Folk Music School in Shiroka Luka and at the Plovdiv Folk Music Conservatory. He came to the U.S. in 1995, and has served as visiting professor of ethnomusicology at https://www.tradebit.com Bulgarian pipes differ from the scottish pipes in that they are capable of quarter tones. Vassil builds his own pipes of which there are two kinds: Kaba (low) and Dgura (high) both are made from the inverted skin of an goat.

A native of Saigon, Vietnam , Nhut came to the US in 1989. He studied Dan Bau with Phan Thanh who is an innovator of that instrument. Nhut has played the Dan Bau , a one-stringed traditional musical instrument from Vietnam,since he was very young. He also plays the guitar and is an active musician in the Vietnamese traditional group "Echo from the Motherland". Nhut is also an engineer at IBM in San Jose,California. Nhut has played dan bau in the documentary film "Regret to inform" and has recorded on many albums.

Brian was born in Oakland California and took up drums at the early age of 4. Once out of high school, the talented drummer joined Bay Area sax player J. Spencer''s band, who was signed to Motown Records. A few years later, Brian was picked up by long time friends Toni Tony Tone. Once the very successful group broke up he free lanced with such artists as Confunkshun, Ray Obieto, Ledisi, Lalah Hathaway and many others. Recording with Carlos Santana, Brian shared the experience of working on a Grammy winning song and album. To this day, Brian continues to share his talent - a rhythmic breath of fresh air - and his love of music with the world.

Erick was born in Havana Cuba listening to the music of his father, Luis Barberia, current singer of the Orquesta Jorrin (the creator of the ChaChaCha). Erick began his studies in 1991 at Escuela Vocacional de Arte Juan Pablo Duarte. He continued his studies in the Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA) graduating in Folkoric https://www.tradebit.com 1996, Erick graduated from ENA as a dance teacher and began his professional life working in Matanzas as a dancer, actor and percussionist with the Proyecto Korimacao, directed by the actor Manuel Porto. After Korimacao, Erick returned to Havana to teach Cuban Folkloric song and percussion at the ENA and at the Centro Nacional de Escuelas de Arte (CENSEA) for the next five years. In the religious world, Erick is crowned Omo Eleggua, Awo Orunmila and comes from the family of Papo Angarica. Erick currently lives in San Francisco, California, working as a musician.

A native of Casablanca, Morocco, Bouchaib has enjoyed a distinguished musical career on both sides of the Atlantic. After performing throughout the kingdom of Morocco, he arrived in the United States in the early 1990s where he has become a much-sought-after multi-instrumentalist and vocalist of Middle Eastern and North African traditions. Recent career highlights include a 2002 collaboration with Pharoah Sanders on music for Alonzo King''s Lines Ballet Company, recording for Omar Sosa''s CD (SENTIR), performing with Stephen Kent and Trance Mission, as well as critically acclaimed performances at the 1998 San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival. In 2003, Bouchaib composed and performed "Heart Song" for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and played with Carlos Santana at Stern Grove in San Francisco. Victor originally hails from Chicago where his early roots in music were formed. As a young musician, Victor toured with many bands across the country, learning the history of diverse musical genres. In the Bay Area for nearly 10 years, Victor is well known in the musical community. Victor has recorded/played with such musical greats as Booker T, Patti Austin, Angela Bofil, Pointer Sisters, Billy Preston, Mitch Ryder and many more.
