focuspoint consists of singer/guitarist Chris Watson, guitarist Jeremy Olson, bassist Paolo Mottola and drummer Danny Woodward. The guys met while attending Stadium High School in Tacoma and created the band in 2000. After a hiatus to pursue higher education in 2003, the band regrouped in late 2005 and has since played consistently at various venues in Puget Sound.
In early 2007, the band entered the studio to record its first album, “Lost in the Sound.” The 18-track album features all original songs spanning the band’s seven-year history and kicks off with three strong singles, “Never Again,” “Sweet Release,” and “We Came Alive.” The singles represent the album’s themes of angst, heartache and restlessness.
After playing more than 20 shows in support of “Lost in the Sound” in 2007, the band went back into the studio in early 2008 to record the five-track “Alright EP” led by the title track. Inspired by early 90s grunge and alternative rock, the CD shows influeces of Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Incubus, and Silverchair.
