S.P.U.P is a unique blend of multiple music genres which include Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Soul, Rock, and Soca. Safe Place Urban Poetry was born to a group of college friends who shared a common vision and love of music....all music!!! Unlike many musicians of today, S.P.U.P. does not limit itself to any one particualr genre of music, we call upon many influences which gives us a sound enjoyable to as many audiences as possible. S.P.U.P. was born in 2008 after a long and intense process of development and recording of the tracks for our first album release. Production for S.P.U.P is done primarily by Warren Pedersen of Vibelive Productions.
Warren is a well respected musician who has toured to such places as Holland, Belgium, Israel, France, and of course the U.S.A. His talents include: Bass Guitar, Percussion, Keys, Electric/Acoustic Guitar, Violin, and Alto Saxophone. Lead Vocals and most of the creative writing for S.P.U.P. is done by Stizar who has performed at DC venues such as Bar Nun, Mirror''s lounge and U-Turn Cafe. Watch out for him some time soon. S.P.U.P would also like to acknowledge the rest of the crew....without them, this vision and dream would never have been realized.
