Coming out of the great Southwest, Arizona native Jenn Hartmann is proud to present her debut album -"I Admit"- a narrative trip through love making, heart breaking, and ass kicking! She wrote, sang, played acoustic guitar, and produced every track on the album with a little help from her friends. She has now relocated to New York City and is ready to dive, heart first, into the NYC music scene.
Jenn Hartmann has been songwriting since childhood, lyrically exploring the joys and pains of being a kid. She started out on a Fisher-Price piano, entertaining her family (whether they wanted to hear it or not). Now her tool of passion and sweet revenge is a Gibson Songbird acoustic guitar. Her acoustic set is truly one of raw, naked emotion.
The music is a unique blend of honest folk, passionate rock, and even a bit of Broadway theatricality. Her voice will blow your mind and her songs will stay in your head and heart for days. She credits Ani Difranco, Pat Benatar, and Madonna as primary influences in creating her own musical style. She earned her degree in theatre from Arizona State University, and it is clear when you see this rising star that she gives dramatic flair to every performance. Jenn Hartmann guarantees an incredible show.
Although "I Admit" is her first full-length album, Jenn''s music has been featured on two short films: "Heart-Sister" directed by Darby Sue Winterhalter Lofstrand, which was shown at the NY Independent International Film Festival and "October Tenth" directed by Shawna L. Begay, for which she received Best Original Score at the 22nd Annual SCC Film Festival. She was a member of the BMI professional songwriter''s workshop in New York City, she has appeared on Good Morning Arizona, Today Arizona, was called an "aspiring rock star with unlimited possibility," by the State Press Magazine in its February 21, 2002 edition, and the July 4, 2002 Mesa Tribune Get Out exclaimed "With such an impressive first album under her belt, we can only hope the music biz has room for Hartmann.
