Imagine a road trip in Tracy Chapman''s old car, give Dave Matthews a seat, John Mayer is there, maybe Beck has the wheel and David Gray is giving directions. The music they''d listen to would be pretty close to the music of this young, charismatic singer from Tennessee. He believes in the lyrics he writes and he sings them from the bottom of his heart.
Being from Nashville, Jeremy has always been around music. But it wasn''t until his sophomore year of college that this young, energetic, and sometimes shy, flip-flop wearing college student picked up a guitar for the first time and began playing. His song writing ability closely followed. Jeremy has been busy during the last year playing his acoustic shows and opening up for such acts as Universal Records recording artist Teitur, Saturday Night Live''s Fred Armisen, and Louisville, Kentucky based band The Muckrakers.
Jeremy''s growth as a musician has been an ongoing process. He started out in 2001 performing with a group called "Two Kings" made up of him and his friend Jayah Kawa. "We added a drummer and a bass player later on in the ''Two Kings era''. We still kept our name even though there were four of us." Two Kings performed their last show on Halloween night in 2002. After a two year acoustic tour, Jeremy invites various musicians to join him on stage, giving him a full band sound. Mitchell still performs his solo acoustic shows quite often. "Doing the back and forth thing with the full band shows and the solo acoustic shows gives me a chance to explore all of the creative plains in which my music offers." Some of Jeremy''s favorite artists such as John Mayer, Howie Day, and indie rockers Dave Barnes and Matt Wertz all started out playing acoustic. Jeremy is following close in their footsteps.
