Warning!!! This CD has been influenced by the Dead Milkmen, Guns & Roses, and Willie Nelson. Please be careful!

"The Universe", the second helping from Paul Rader, written and recorded in 1996, is his best selling collection to date.

"The Self-Destructive Song" is definitely going to be the happiest, bad day you''ve ever had. It could''ve been a Bob Dylan song(if Bob had been influenced by...let''s say...REM)

And songs like "ME and My Bunny" get you all funked up. Inspired by Paul''s oldest daughter(when she was 3), he tells the story of his little girl''s perspective of her stuffed animal. It''s real blusey and fun.

"Red Balloon" is the opening track and reminds you of a modern Neil Young/Crazy Horse sound because of the guitar work. The relentless rythm guitars in the chorus along with the vocal melody give the song tremendous power.

The title track is done with nothing but acoustic guitars and was imspired by Joni Mitchel.

"Stella" was written by Greg Williams, a long time friend of Paul''s and a fellow Savannahian from way back. When Greg heard the spoken intro he remarked about the ''...crazy UFO experience...'', "Yeah, it''s called marriage!"

"Mary of the Ocean" was a strange choice for this record. The guitars were inspired by Frank Zappa. This was the last song recorded with the rock band that Paul wrote for and fronted, The Evergreens.

He dedicates "Child of Mine" to all three of his children: Sabrina, Mallory, and Lennon. It''s a very beautiful and sentimental song with strong, emotional lyrics.

"Remember April" is a song about a runaway who realizes she''s in too deep. Cool visuals, great lyrics. Check it out!
