Johnny Most is a "newstalgia" band playing original and cover funk and rock songs. First there was Brian Hibbard
Brian''s singing career took off at the age of three whilst mimicking Rene Rancourt''s heroic National Anthem prior to Bruins'' home games. He''s been dabbling at the piano for some 21 years, and now possesses BM and MM in classical percussion (which both sit idly on a shelf in Pennsylvania). His turn-ons include playing John Cage''s 2nd Imaginary Landscape and really good bread, and is dually repulsed by men in sweat pants and international bullying. After an aborted start by the new band (the name is classified), Joby hijacked Brian''s band and turned it into what would become Johnny Most. His 20 years of drumming includes recordings with Agents of Good Roots, Regatta 69, and The Scrimshanders. His main drumming influences are Stewart Copeland, Elvin Jones, and Stevie Wonder. Nich Deysher
Nich Deysher has put his skills as a singer/ songwriter/ guitarist/ bassist to good use over the past 10 years, fronting several bands and touring briefly with Mrs. SKAnnotto, Trolley Trolley, and as a solo performer. Nich currently has 2 solo, chilren''s albums "One Man Band" and "In the Nick of Time," both available on his website. and works as a music teacher. Nich''s greatest influences include The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Horace Silver. And thus the seminal core of Johnny Most was born. Matt Twiest
Matt moved to the New England area in ''96 to attend college in Maine. While in school he studied music and played bass in several bands. One of these bands included Nich Deysher (of Johnny Most fame), who was enrolled in the same music program. Following graduation, Matt moved to Boston to perform with one of these bands. Recently, he reconnected with Nich who asked him to play bass for Johnny Most. The band''s unique style of funk immediately attracted Matt to the music and he has been performing and recording with the group since. Matt''s influences include The Vilvomatics, Greenhouse, Trolley Trolley, Sister Ray, The Rubber Policemen, Mrs. SKAnotto, The Clydesdale Cowboys, and The Carla Ryder Band. The band was really rolling now, but they yearned for the extra push over the cliff. And since they''re all too skinny to tear off their shirts while performing, they opted instead to add horns . . .
Scott Miller
Scott has played saxophone many types of groups over the last 20 years, ranging from big-band and small group jazz to ''50s doo-wop to classic and 90''s rock. Prior to his relocation to the Northeast he performed and recorded with Rhonda''s Basement in Chicago. Scott never knows what to say when asked what his musical influences are, but he listens to lots of jazz and Tom Waits.
Bill Godin
Bill has been playing sax for about twenty years now, starting in fourth grade as we all did when the highschoolers came down for learn an instrument day. He played in concert and jazz band throughout, and majored in classical at the Hartt School of Music. Now landing in Johnny Most, his influences include Mingus, Roland Kirk, Police, Marley, Jimi, Clapton, and Kenny(*what!!!...are you nuts*!!!), and everything else out there. Despite vicious rumors, he does not carry a case of Kenny G''s hair products.
Ben Ming
When Ben picked up the trombone in high school, he did so to become a rock god. Unfortunately, he didn''t realize that the instrument of a rock god was not the trombone. In fact, it was anything but the trombone. I mean, how the hell do you rock out on that thing? Wouldn''t the ability to do so fly in the face of modern physics and completely warp reality, creating a black hole that would eventually destroy the universe? Maybe, and someday he''ll figure out a way, but until then he''s happily playing for this Johnny Most.
