Jonathan Brown

"If anything in life I choose to do, it is create and perform music. Music made me what I am today. "I will take this to the grave."

A talent that the world has yet to know, Jonathan Brown was just 4 years old when his father, Elder Freddie Brown Sr. (current pastor of UHOP, Jacksonville, FL) birthed his musicality through piano. Now Brown claims himself to be a skilled instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer.

"Who believes in me?" asks JB. Though from a very talented family background, Brown''s family didn''t take a strong interest in Jonathan wanting to pursue music as a career. Besides, what kid does not dream about being a star? "I knew I had the gift when I discovered that I was always one of the best of my age range and I was outdoing most," says Jonathan.

From there Jonathan figured out how to do more than just play. Jonathan grew up playing multiple instruments in the house of God. He gives all the praise to God and his United House of Prayer family. He studied his craft faithfully and listened to many mainstream artists and how the music was composed and arranged. Brown gained an interest in songwriting, producing, singing, and become a most productive business man. Out of Savannah, GA, Jonathan thought it would be very difficult to pursue his career in music, but he strived to learn all he could. He did it all. Brown worked with the executive producer and president of Godson Records, Darrell Parker Sr. Through this experience he obtained much knowledge about the business and music itself. He worked on several underground albums with Darrell and kept a few dollars in his pocket while at it. He studied under jazz trombonist, Teddy Adams, who was a local jazz recording artist and also Carl Polk, 1rst chair trombonist of the Savannah Symphony Orchestra.

Jonathan went to Savannah Arts Academy, an art school for the best of the best in Savannah. He toured with the Skyelite Jazz Band and the Silverwind Ensemble. After graduating in May of 2002 at age 18, he moved to Atlanta, GA. and went on to attend Clark Atlanta University. There he studied under international recording artist, Mark Boozer. Brown also toured as the pianist with the CAU Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of James Patterson.

In 2002, Brown released his pre-album release titled, "It''s Time." The first steps were rough, but with some profits of an earlier formed computer business that he started, Jonathan was able to build the project with just a Triton keyboard and a computer workstation that he built. Brown has recently released his 2004 album entitled "Restore Me." With full intention to sell over thousands strong, he is striving to make this album his way into the doors of the radio stations, record companies, and into the hands of many listeners. Now continuing on his musical ideas and playing in local churches, he hopes that this upcoming release will bring his dream to life: that''s to be an internationally known, world renowned recording artist.

Though Brown has reached a high level in his music, his potential is even greater. Being a team player, having discipline, tolerance, and a positive image has played a great part in his learning process. Though Jonathan is a great performer, he is humble and doesn''t let his talent go to his head. His distinct down-to-earth attitude sets him apart from most. In an era of mega-talented youngsters, Jonathan Brown stands out from the crowd. And if this all sounds too good to be true, just remember: miracles always do.
