Originally from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Joselyn''s music ministry began in church at age eleven. She cites her mother as her very first inspiration to sing, because she recognized and encouraged her musical pursuit. Outside of Church, Joselyn sang with several groups and bands in the secular realm. Later, she wet her feet over the airwaves by working for an Ohio radio station singing jingles. She also wrote and sang jingles for a Jacksonville, Florida radio station. She says those experiences only confirmed her true desire and purpose - praising and worshipping God with her voice. She made the decision then that God''s glory was all she wanted to sing about, and she set out to follow her heart.
During recent years, she''s recorded with Rev. Charles Turner and Revelation on his latest album. She also co-wrote a song with Gospel-based producer/songwriter/playwright Andrea Johnson. She was then led to Dunamis Christian Center in Hampton, Virginia, a ministry full of prolific musicians. It was there she met her producer and manager, CEO of Lutron Music Group, Joshua Head. With more people falling in love with her voice, she was granted the opportunity to open for Gospel greats like Helen Baylor, Earl Bynum, Kim Rutherford, and Bubby Fan, to name a few.
Working with Head and an unbelievable team of producers including Andre Ames, Joselyn was able to set her incredible vocals to contemporary and acoustic Gospel backdrops on her debut album In the Presence of God. Joselyn and the Lutron production team came up with a fresh flavor that encompasses not one but all of the favorite praise and worship elements that Gospel lovers adore. Joselyn''s graceful voice offers a unique spin on all styles of Gospel music. Because of its diversity, In the Presence of God ministers to people of all ages, worldwide.
On In the Presence of God, Joselyn joins fellow songwriters Joshua Head, Pastor James T. Elam Jr., and other songwriters. The album is filled with guest artists such as Gospel recording artists Frank Caldwell and Pastor James T. Elam. Joselyn says this album is one you can pop in and listen to from beginning to end. From quiet worship to praise jams, In the Presence of God is truly special, and reaches everyone. Joselyn was the guest artist for the annual "Battle of the Bay Classic" basketball game in Norfolk, VA, and will host the annual "AFRAM FEST" in Norfolk, VA this upcoming June.
Filled with the joy of God, an infectious smile and exuberant laugh, Joselyn always shares a positive vibe and encouraging word wherever she goes. Joselyn says her true desire for her music is that it will usher in the presence of God for everyone who listens, and it will help people find healing for their sickness and solutions to their problems. "I want people to enter into the presence of God through my music. When they sing my songs, I want God to come through and help them out of their bad situations."
