December Skies is an original work consisting of thirteen songs, ranging from solo acoustic guitar to orchestrated complete band tunes. Bill played all of the instruments; you’ll hear guitars, bass, drums, percussion, strings, sax, trumpet, flute, requinto, keys, sitar, and synth to name a few; not on all tunes mind you, but on compositions begging for a certain sound.
Eleven of the thirteen songs are instrumentals featuring strong melodies. From the solo masterpieces like One Day, This Is What You Are and the title track, to the harmonized electric guitar of Zing and Foxville Turn, the horn section in Art Show, or the dreaminess of I’m Flying, Saved by Love, and Ponder, this music will surprise and delight! You’ll find yourself humming these tunes. Agents of Change features thirteen native speakers speaking seven languages with the message that we are all brothers and sisters. A message of strength and overcoming adversity is delivered by guest vocalist, Sarah Long with her strong performance on Foxville Turn. The album artwork is from an original watercolor by Naila Parveen.
Bill grew up near Cape Cod in Massachusetts and resides now in Virginia. A graduate of U Mass, Utah State, and George Mason University, he directs a four year high school guitar program in Fairfax County, VA, and is an adjunct music faculty member at the College of Southern Maryland. He has composed over a hundred fifty songs. Eight of his tunes were featured on the 2004 Greenheart release, Hope. His strongest influences are Pat Metheny, Carlos Santana and acoustic artists like Michael Hedges. He performs in the community as a soloist and as a member of the Kingsley Winter Band, and directs the Wildcat Guitar Ensemble.
