Details:
The John Evans Band has been a mainstay in the Texas music scene for the past several years with a list of influences that span the genre map. Anyone who follows Texas music has most likely been exposed to Evans'' unique sound, often referred to as "Buddy Holly fronting AC/DC." From classic country and rockabilly to old school punk and rock ''n'' roll, each album project progresses in a different direction than the last.

2005 brings the release of "Circling the Drain," produced by John Evans and Steve Christensen at world-famous SugarHill Studios in Houston. The album resonates towards the more rocking side of the music barometer while sticking close to the band''s Texas roots. Quoted as "heavy metal honky-tonk" by The Galveston Daily News, "Circling The Drain" leaves a little something for everyone - old fans and new.

A slight departure from the usual, this album sends the John Evans Band into the "alt-radio" friendly world. Evans elaborates on this change in direction, "People say it''s not quite country and it''s not quite rock, but it has all the stuff that country has got and all the stuff that rock has got. They''re not quite sure what it is and that''s good, I''m glad we''re not like everyone else."

Over the past four years John Evans has repeatedly beat out Houston''s top musicians at the Houston Press Awards to include Best Country and Western musician, Best Songwriter, Best Male Vocalist three times and Local Musician of the Year, twice. The music video for album track "Quicksand" recently won a Platinum award at the 2005 WorldFest International Film Festival and another album track, "Slither," made the soundtrack for popular indie film "Drop Dead Sexy," starring Jason Lee and Crispin Glover, which debuted at SxSW Film Festival in 2005.

And the hits keep coming. With recent sponsorships for Lonestar Beer and Elixir Strings, the John Evans Band is currently touring the U.S. throughout the year in support of a national radio campaign and the album release. Look and listen for the John Evans Band in a market near you!
