Jovert, a play on the carnival term "Jouvet," or "to play," is the perfect name for the Tucson High Steel Band. Made up of over 30 students at an arts magnet high school in Tucson, Arizona, Jovert''s New Beginnings explores a new realm of steel band music.

The album''s 17 songs feature standards such as "Bird Boy", "Jammin''", "Party in Session" and "Try Jah Love" but also original tunes, written specifically for these groups (e.g. "Broken Time" and "Monkey Named Calypso").
