Out of the ashes of the band "Atomic Fantasy", the project known as Joyslam was forged. Vocalist/Keyboardist RJ Martine ventured out to create a unique Funk/Rock sound. An integration of various musical styles including Jazz, Latin, Ska and Reggae.

Recent events saw Joyslam as the winner of Toronto Computes & Now Magazine''s esteemed Coolest Tunes Contest which was bombarded with over 50,000 song entries. Joyslam has also obtained the Broadcast version of the Music video for their first single "Empty" which was aired Nationally on APTN-TV''s Saturday Night Café. Strong bass lines and slaps accent the ranging vocals which propel this high-energy dance hook laden song or "Red Hot Chili Peppers Eat your hearts out!!" as quoted by Gail O''Donnell of the prestigious CMMRA, the Canadian Musical Rights and Licensing Association.
