Jeffrey Vitelli is a singer/songwriter originally from Norristown, PA. He is currently performing with the Group ELS in New Orleans. With his hot New Cd "Possibility" and energetic live performances Jeffrey continues to climb the ladder of success.
"White men can jump" were the words Patti Labelle used after she handed Jeffrey the microphone during one of her concerts at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi. Patti was stopped in her tracks and in awe as she stood and listened to Jeffrey improvise on the spot to her hit "You Are My Friend." Jeffrey brought the audience to their feet with his powerful, unique voice and shocked Patti Labelle. No one ever expects what they hear when Jeffrey opens his mouth to sing. Whether singing Gospel, Dance, Pop, Jazz or Broadway music, Jeffrey is one artist who has the ability to move people every time he opens his mouth.
Born in Norristown, PA, Jeffrey came out of the womb loving music. He was trying to sing before he could even talk, putting on concerts for family members with a jump rope as his microphone.
Jeffrey began voice lessons at the young age of six. It wasn''t long before Jeffrey''s unique talent was recognized. At age nine, Jeffrey made his Broadway debut in the Tony awarding winning show "Nine" with Sergio Franchi. It was apparent in this production that Jeffrey was made for the stage, exhibiting a strong stage presence and voice that could hold and capture an audience.
After "Nine," Jeffrey continued performing in various theater productions and continued to study voice and piano. His talents were further developed at the High School for Creative and Performing Arts in Philadelphia, the alma mater of Boyz II Men. Although mainly trained for Classical and Broadway music, Jeffrey developed a love for Gospel, Jazz and R&B during his high school years and began following artists such as Patti Labelle, the Pointer Sisters, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday and Bonnie Raitt, and Anita Baker.
Jeffrey is the kind of singer/musician who does more than sing words, he brings emotion to a song; emotion that comes from life experience. He is the kind of singer who can bring chills to his audience and grab them at the heart. There are few artists who can take a song, interpret it and make it their own. Jeffrey is one of those artists.
Recently, Jeffrey recorded his first CD "Possibilty" thanks to the encouragement of Dance Diva, Thea Austin. It features three of Jeffrey''s original songs, "If I Had the Chance," "Possibility" and "Feel, Breathe, Move." On this CD, Jeffrey sings all his own vocals, displays his powerful voice and shows a unique ability of interpretation. This long awaited CD is a must have and only the beginning for
