Details:
When you live in Florida, there is an experience of Florida that no visitor can really experience, except in moments or snippets. When I came to Florida to live, everyone kept asking me what my experience of Florida was, so I wrote the songs of this CD in response to that question. If you can''t visit Florida, this will bring you into that experience. If you can visit, I hope you take this home to remember it by. Weeks can go by, and you can re-enter Florida with these sounds. Florida Heat, Mango Season, Hurricane Storm, Kickin'' Back On Borrowed Time, Where The Light Shines, and Gone Fishin'' have lyrics written by my wife, Bethany Dalton-Kash, and they reflect her impressions of Florida as well.
Bio: Once a Songwriter in the San Francisco scene of California, Alex Kash moved to Florida in 2003 to settle down near the Atlantic in South Florida, where the smells of the salty air, Bananas, Mangoes, and other tropical fruits abound. He regularly sticks his feet into that white sand and listens to the tropical sounds coming from the Island cultures there, and blends this with his knowledge of music coming from the San Francisco scene.

"Alex Kash has one of the most beautiful natural voices I''ve ever heard." - Rita Coolidge, winner of two Grammy Awards.

Alex Kash was voted best singer in Calaveras County by the readers of the Calaveras Enterprise Newspaper.

REVIEW OF "FLORIDA HEAT" BY ZOE MONTANA (OF RADIO ACOUSTIC)

"alex kash with "florida heat"- not that i''m influenced by the title at all, now that i too am living in Florida. i am looking forward to my first heat wave in this state.. along with hurricane season.. but if it makes for such great songwriting as this delightful husband and wife songwriting team i''m calling "the kash machine" - then bring on the heat!''"

"I never tire of hearing it! Enjoyed the philosophy, and great voice"-listener on Whole Wheat Radio after listening to Mango Season

After Hurricane Charlie, luckily the Catherine A. Hickman Theatre was still there, and Alex was able to join other musicians for the show, "Keeping Company With Donna Klein," where he performed the song "Hurricane Storm" for the first time in public. Here is the review of that event: Review of October 3, 2004 "Blues in the Afternoon"
"The first time I attended "Keeping Company with Donna Klein," I had little idea of what to expect. I knew I was going to hear some blues. What I experienced far exceeded my expectations.
With a warm introduction, the musicians: Alex Kash, Sandy Atkinson, Sarasota Slim, and Donna Klein, invaded the room, armed only with their voices and guitars.
I loved the format of the show: four musicians, each taking turns to share their stories and music. Not only were these accomplished performers, these were funny, creative people who obviously loved what they were doing. I enjoyed learning about their lives and personalities. This sharing made the music so much more meaningful.
But there was more to the show than that. The audience was wowed by the musicians'' free style jamming. One would start playing the blues and the others would play along, complementing each other''s unique sound. I loved the sound of Slim''s all metal guitar, Alex''s dynamite twelve string, Sandy''s gorgeous voice, and Donna''s playful music and lyrics.
The audience was even involved, given kazoos to hum along with the tunes. As the show wrapped up, Donna invited the audience to directly participate. Singing with the musicians, we filled the hall with sweet melody, and kazoos! I, caught up in the music, did not hesitate to use mine.
This unique concert took me by surprise! I could have never predicted the fun, warmth, and humor I''d feel, and I cannot do justice with a review. I encourage anyone who enjoys music to see this show."
