Kenneith Perrin is a singer, songwriter, entertainer and producer who hopes to capture and inspire many with his music. His mother, Kathryn Perrin, accidentally overheard him singing "Skin Tight " (by the former Ohio Players), to his collie and discovered that he had an extraordinary talent at a very impressionable age of four.
Ever since then it is has been a non-stop adventure for this eclectic musician. At age eight, he performed with the Reverand James Cleveland (Philadelphia, PA) and was the youngest paid entertainer for the Miss Coastal Empire Beauty Pageant (Savannah, GA). In a brief span of fifteen years, Kenneith joined the 4-H Club vocal music showcase group-- Clovers & Company; won 1st place for the Newlife Contemporary Christian Talent Contest; played drums/percussion for his father''s, Willie Joseph Perrin, jazz band; The Soft Tones and extensively toured with the Queens College Chamber Singers in Charlotte, NC.
It was in his teens when Kenneith decided to deepen his walk with the Lord. "At the time I was in high school and was always asking God to help me pass my test. Eventually I began to realize through prayer and studying scripture that the Lord was more than just some miracle worker who answered selfish prayers. He has a greater purpose for all of us on earth and that included me also. I desired to write music that expressed turning points in our lives that glorify Jesus. I am amazed by how our relationships with one another are affected by His love, mercy and truth. Inevitably, I also sing and write about struggles, joys, and life experiences that affect all of us. Overall, I hope my music inspires and brings comfort to those who may be in need."
In addition to his musical pursuits, Kenneith attended the University of Tennessee College of Law to focus on entertainment law. His law school duration provided a vast creative stimulus for singing/writing more songs as well as solo performances, including the Master Card Talent Competition where he won 1st place. Kenneith also electrified the stage and dazzled many during his touring with the D-Lyrious Band in Knoxville, Tennessee from 2000 to 2001.
The year 2006 found Kenneith releasing his debut album entitled, "It Took So Long". Smashing singles such as "Deep Dreams", "Where Are You Tonight" and "All The Blessings Flow" captured both Australian and American airwaves. ASCAP recently honored Kenneith with the ASCAP Plus 2007-2008 Award to Singer/Songwriters, who never tire of making and sharing music around the world. He notes that although the project did take quite a while to complete, it was definitely well worth the wait. The wisdom gained through the journey of making the CD was just as important as finishing the final project.
New projects on the horizon include a new album, touring, writing songs for other artists, performing in a variety of specialized duo and trio groups and leading a band of contemporary praise and worship artists. Where ever the journey leads, Kenneith Perrin is destined to follow.
