KARNEY co-founded the band Stepchildren in 1987, innovating a crossover blend of Heavy Metal and Hip-Hop. She caught the attention of London record company Big Red Records, as well as that of the infamous George Clinton, who remixed the band''s college radio hit Jericho. He then asked KARNEY to appear on a video for his CD Cinderella Theory. Shortly thereafter KARNEY went on national and international tours as keyboardist and guitarist with Angel Corpus Christi, with whom she appeared in a series of live radio acoustic concerts in Gloucester, Manchester, Liverpool, and on London''s Virgin station.
Totally unstoppable, KARNEY was soon afterward asked to play piano and assist in songwriting by Linda Perry. KARNEY, an accomplished singer/songwriter in her own right, next turned her attention to her own material. While working on her new material, she was also establishing herself as a major force in the multimedia and computer gaming industries. Her crossover Ambient Electronic and Groove sounds can be heard on Sim City 3000 and 3000 Ultimate, as well as Industrial/Hip-Hop underscores for The Showtime Channel''s TV and radio ads for Heavy Weight Boxing events. All the while she was completing her most recent CD.
In the upcoming CD titled KARNEY, she transforms her original songs into creatively produced, hard hitting, high-energy, experiences with a really fresh approach. While featuring her huge vocals, KARNEY also displays her rare skills on both guitar and keyboards. Three of the songs are a collaboration with P.S.M. Recording Producer and Dance Hall Toaster Stand Out Selector, and when they vocalize together, it is truly a "stand-out!." KARNEY is passionate about three things: lots of dynamic changes, unusual instruments, real poetry in her lyrics.
She also loves to surprise listeners with her humorous side (perhaps from having worked with so many drag queen cabaret singers?) with songs about sex that are her own unique brand of love songs. In the tradition of Sound Garden, Patty Smith and The Beatles, KARNEY writes solid songs that reflect her own unique style. Listen and get a taste for it!
