Details:
Richie Milton''s career was kick started in the late 60''s, when he appeared on national TV performing, "Got My Mojo Working", when only 13 years of age.
In the early 70''s he took up saxophone, and toured and recorded with Freddy Macks Soul Extravaganza and reggae acts The Pioneers and Judge Dread.

After switching to guitar he signed to Bell Records, releasing a single and making further TV appearances. He went on to form "The London Apaches", who became an established name on the then thriving London R&B scene, releasing the single, "Lost In The Jungle", and touring with the legendary Long John Baldry.

Richie Milton and his Lowdown originated as a 10 piece Rhythm and Blues Review, who recorded the CD "Straight Ahead No Stopping", which was released by Indigo Records, along with the follow up CD, "Coming Back For More".

It was around this time Richie''s songwriting was being noticed by artists such as Ruby Turner and Otis Grand, who both recorded his songs, paving the way for his well acknowledged talent as a singer and songwriter.

The Lowdown, by now a 7 piece that included vocalist Linda Hall, continued touring, and appearing at international festivals. The next recording, "Let Me Tell You More" came out on the Blues Matters label, much to critical acclaim and receiving world-wide air play.

The acclaimed album, ''Bluesique'', was brought to the attention of Blake Powell, who immediately signed the band to his Note-Music Record Label.
The album has unsurprisingly met with a number of ''rave'' reviews in the Blues press, and has since been followed by their latest CD, ‘Lowdowning’.

The current Lowdown line-up comprises: Dave Lennox on keyboards (another Note-Records artist); Phil Lucas on bass (who has played with Richie for over 20 years); Ed Spevock on drums; Linda Hall on backing and lead vocals; Dick Hanson on trumpet (a veteran of the 60''s soul scene having played with Wilson Picket and James and Bobby Purify, amongst others), and Steve King on sax (also co-producer on many of Richie''s recordings).

Their live shows have drawn praise from other artists, and the press alike, including Jazz Journal, who proclaimed their show as, "A Powerhouse Performance"!
