Topcat Records is proud to announce the release of "Lay Low" the debut CD by singer/songwriter/guitarist Keller Thomas. Lay Low is a mixed bag of jazzy swing blues and Texas roadhouse rock with sizzling guitar, the soaring sounds of the Hammond B-3 organ and a tinge of mariachi horns. Except for a cover of Delbert McClinton''s "Shot From The Saddle", Lay Low boasts nine never released originals and displays crisp songwriting, colorful imagery and Keller''s soulful vocals.

Recorded at Dallas'' famed Summit Studios, Lay Low showcases some of Texas'' finest musicians including former Bob Wills steel guitar player Tom Morrell, harmonica ace Paul Harrington and Sonny Collie on bass.

Popular Dallas blues singer, Betty Lewis, delivers haunting background vocals on the song "Homeless And Alone". The CD also features drummer Fred Glieber who is currently on tour with superstar LeeAnn Riemes. Fred provided the backbeat for LeeAnn''s monster hit "Blue". Horns were arranged by Don Bozman of Dallas Brass & Electric and spotlight the wailing Texas tenor saxophone of former Bugs Henderson sideman Marc Rybiski.

The musical landscape of Lay Low is an expose of society''s underbelly. The album non-chronologically tells the tale of a murderous love triangle. As Keller puts it, "A guy is unjustly convicted of murdering his cheating wife''s lover and escapes death row to life on the run as a homeless fugitive. I try hard not to judge the situation or characters, I just want to tell the story. The only song that is not part of the story line is a tribute ballad I wrote about Stevie Ray Vaughan, titled "Texas Legend". It just seemed to fit musically. Stylistically, this collection of songs owes as much to Bob Wills, Lyle Lovett and Joe Ely as it does to T-Bone Walker and the Vaughan brothers. I think the one word that best describes my music is Tex-clectic."
