For more than twenty years, guitarists Jonathan Keezing and Chris Florio have performed and recorded together, developing a deep musical rapport that is showcased on their new CD of improvised guitar duets.
"Jon and I have played in more musical situations than either of us can probably remember.", says Chris Florio. "We have performed in the woods wearing medieval garb and in corporate boardrooms wearing tuxedos. We have played rock, jazz, klezmer, fusion, techno, baroque, greek wedding music, children''s music, polkas and lots of each other''s original music. At this point improvising with Jonathan is like breathing. It is like playing guitar with an extra set of arms."
This is very much evident on the new release. On four separate occasions over the past year, the two got together at Florio''s studio, turned on the recorder and played. The resulting is "All Rivers Run to Rain", which reflects all of their varied musical experiences together. The album''s theme is carried through the song titles which accurately express the organic flow with which the duo weave together their broad musical vocabulary.
Keezing-Florio are currently doing a small tour of the New England Area performing at galleries, museums, bookstores, and other intimate spaces where audiences can listen to intricate guitar explorations in a relaxed atmosphere.
