Heavy blues guitar player/singer from Ontario, Canada, Jeffrey David (BigJD) is well known for fronting Canadian heavy-weights Wicked Angel from 1984 - 1994. Through the years he has recorded many blues demos but has finally released some updated work. In fact, two full length cd''s as a double album. Great guitar playing on these 2 discs. The guitar tracks were laid down during the first part of 2008 on both cd''s and the vocals midway through the year. The bed tracks were from studio demo''s that were previously laid down in 2006 and 2007 but never used. Now these songs have been completed and released for the world to hear, both cd''s on one disc and over an hour in length total. This is not your average blues. It''s heavy! What does that mean? It means it''s loud and in your face blues. Not that it doesn''t get real deep at times, but it maintains a powerful driving force. A very heavy back-bone and tons of lead guitar. Gibson''s with Marshall amps. Now you get the picture. It''s down and dirty. Even a little rough around the edges... but that''s what keeps it real. Blues with a bite!
If you''re into the blues and you want it to hit you hard, you''re really gonna feel it in these tracks. Although the 2 cd''s have been completed and released at the same time, Long Time Comin'' is considered disc 1 as the beds were laid down in ''06 while the beds for Heavy Effin'' Blues were recorded in ''07. By beds we of course mean the drums, bass & rhythm guitar tracks. And keeping in line with that order, the lead guitar & vocal tracks were laid down in the order of the beds, but all in ''08.
Jeffrey David''s BLUES CONNECTION
Jeffrey David''s Blues Connection is the "long name" for BigJD''s blues project. It''s the name of the touring entity. And the Blues Connection has been a side project for years. In fact, at one point, Wicked Angel were going to tour under the name as a side project, but never did. Recently, some thought has been given to actually doing some live dates. And you can bet the live act will be in your face as well. With BigJD having come from one of Canada''s heaviest independant metal acts, make no mistake, his BLUES CONNECTION will rock.
If you think the cd''s are kick-ass, you can imagine the balls the live show would carry. If you get a chance to see Jeffrey David''s BLUES CONNECTION, don''t pass up the opportunity. You will surely regret it.
