Details:
Tony Youngblood’s first album, Recorder, is low-fi, sweaty, and desperate. It was recorded over the course of one year in a bedroom with sub-standard equipment and hands too few. It is a scrappy mix of rock n’ roll and alt-country influenced by artists such as Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, P.J. Harvey, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, Frank Black, and Okkervil River. Yet underneath the scruffiness and soot, one thing shines through: the songs are really damn good!
