KL5 is, simply, music borne of three mates who after several years, one day realized they enjoyed the music and company of one another moreso than the other projects they''d been or were a part of. They are largely accoustic, combined with a healthy dose of electricity and sonic-sculpting; the trio offers up a progressive-folk-rock-funk styling that draws on as many other artists and styles as the three bandmates have toes and fingers, or are able to count out loud. With the recent addition of the talented and inventive Brent Johnson behind his drums, KL5''s sound is as powerful as ever.
"Steal the Plain Straight", recorded in early 2003, hearkens back to the group''s earlier days and tunes, is a bit more stripped down than their current live shows in the Seattle metro area, and will give you a bit of a window into this band''s beginnings with a couple suprises along the way.
