Like a Lover is Lillian Palmer''s CD debut, arranged and produced by Bill Cunliffe. Her vocal style is sensitive, deep and rich. Adding to the musical richness are strings, horns and a soulful rhythm section. When asked about her style Lillian says. "I need to tell a story through the lyrics of the song. That tells me everything musically - direction, phasing and vocal coloring." Lillian began singing at the age of eight in her elementary school choir. "I loved the song "Happiness" from the musical You''re a Good Man Charlie Brown, I was hooked" Classically trained Lillian began her vocal training at the age of fifteen, and moving into musical theatre. Then discovering the Great American Songbook and a love for Gershwin, Porter and all the other wonderful writers. "That was it, I could be myself in this music, and those lyrics, those beautiful, cleverly written lyrics!"
