"K-N-S" BIOGRAPHY
Silky:
As the first lady & other half of the dynamic duo K-N-S ALLSTARS, Silky brings energy, creativity, and a distinct passion for music. An intellectual rap style was discovered after starting off freestylin'' for fun around the house. Born as the oldest to her younger brother in Oxnard, CA, the two of them were raised by their mother, a single parent. She was given the name Shavonn Swain, something unique, and creative. With her father singing in a gospel group and her mother also singing and performing she drew a quick interest in both music and dance. To Shavonn, performing became a perfect way of knowing whether or not that she was really talented, and she found her talents were successful.

In school, she joined the music band were the flute was here choice in music-expression. Having performing in talent shows & plays throughout school, she quickly became essential to her peers. Adding on to her talent capabilities, choreography became another skillful talent of hers that was discovered in high school as cheerleading captain. Now having honor in both the Associated Student Body and pushing forth school spirit to keep teamwork & pride alive, Shavonn was a leader. She graduated ready to put forth what leadership skills she attained in school to continue on in life.

Still having a love for rap, and keeping a rhythm book from time to time her mind grew. She has gone on to choreograph various local shows, volunteered to choreograph for kids at youth centers, perform as captain on an Arena Football League dance team, choreograph/perform in college dance concerts, complete a rap introduction for a local DJ, and land feature rolls in both commercials and videos in Nashville. Being an asset to the South, she has learned and gained many achievements, and is extremely proud to have discovered her various multi talents.

Keyi:
One half of the phenomenal, energetic mastermind group K-N-S ALLSTARS. Keyi was born Kevin E. Turner, on Sept. 1, in Memphis, TN. He grew up in Gary, IN, where his father worked at a steel mill, while encouraging him to play instruments all at the age of 5. His mother also encouraged him to play music, but wanted him to incorporate both singing and dancing. By the age 10, he had a thing for hip-hop music, and was a dance craze. Some of his biggest influences were Michael J., Heavy D, Big Daddy Kane, Kwame, Public Enemy, TLC, Kid-N-Play, MC Hammer, and his favorite group of all time, Jodeci.

At the age of 11, Keyi''s family moved to Nashville, where his mother wrote country songs for 2 years, and his father worked hard to get Kevin a guitar, a keyboard, and other musical instruments. Strongly believing in their son his family almost went broke trying. His mother also was very strict about who was interested in their son, and his music. There were times where older age groups wanted him to play for them, but Kevin was to busy playing lead positions in elementary school that no kids could play. (Bongos, xylophones, and guitar.) His music teacher was amazed.

Moving up in school he was playing bass guitar for his families group, The Silver Stars of Nashville Tennessee. With hip-hop music still being a big influence in min, he became a more dynamic and energetic performer. He played the symbols in the high school band and also was a half time dancer. Kevin still continues to push his music to the limit being a producer, writer, singer, and choreographer. He is very thankful for all of the talents that he was blessed with today.
