Fans and press alike have embraced the distinctive meshing of Irish and American cultures behind Saucy Monky. This diverse 2- singer band celebrates the partnership of songwriters Annmarie Cullen, born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and New Jersey native, Cynthia Catania. Band mates Carson Cohen & Adam Marcello grew up in America on the East & West coasts respectively.
Their sophmore effort, TURBULENCE, is the follow-up to Saucy Monky''s critically acclaimed debut album, CELEBRITY TRASH, which scored the band two hit radio singles in 2003 with the gloriously infectious "DON''T WANNA KNOW YOUR NAME", (which was voted a top Irish single of 2003 by HOT PRESS) and the beautiful "FLICKER". Songs from the album have also been featured on various MTV reality shows. TURBULENCE exhibits a more sophisticated, yet raw electro-acoustic growth from the garage sounding CELEBRITY TRASH.
While recording TURBULENCE in Los Angeles, this "indie band at heart" caught the attention of major industry heavyweights such as star mixer Chris Fogel (Alanis Morissette, U2, Aerosmith) and keyboardist Jeremy Ruzumna (Macy Gray collaborator), both of whom lend their talents on the sophomore release.
