Formed in San Luis Obispo, California in 2005 Lucas Ohio, Mike Marotto, and Colby James discovered each other playing around San Luis Obispo and the Central Coast and are already celebrated as “a new folk rock phenomenon.”
Lucas Ohio, passionate vocalist and guitarist often compared to Jim Morrison and Jonny Lang, writes prolific songs that seduce the audience and blaze new compositional trails. Mike Marotto adds new sonic dimensions to the music with tight bass and electric guitar grooves. Colby James nails the pocket with rhythms that breathe and keeps space open.
Caleb Quaye, Elton John’s first producer and featured guitarist in Elton John’s band, had the opportunity to hear the Shamblers. He described Lucas Ohio as a “good storyteller and dynamic vocalist” leading a “tight trio with great riffs, changes in time signature, and compelling arrangements . . . that approach a level of cohesive uniqueness that’s extraordinary for a new band.”
