Randal Ehm and Tom McKinley began jamming together in 1996, forming Ehm TV with drummer Van Smith in 1998. Smith was replaced by Steve Polite in 2000, and STEHM was born! STEHM was joined by James Neal in 2005.
Tom comes from a long history of shredding guitar work, including local bands The Big Idea and Tiburon Alley. Tom is the creative genius behind our music, with original riffs that don''t sound like any other band. James is not only a solid, wide-ranging singer, but he is also an accomplished and talented guitarist. He is also a big contributer to music creation, having written several of our songs. James'' long list of former bands includes San Diego''s popular Big Toe. Steve has a strong blues background, having played for several years with Tomcat Courtney. Randal brings bass and vocal ability, along with unique lyrical compositions, from former bands including Rocket X, Fearless Vampire Killers and Rockitects.
The dueling leads of McKinley and Neal set us apart from many other rock bands of today. Ehm and Polite keep a solid bottom, while all band members contribute to harmonies and lead vocals. Our unique sound cannot be characterized and is very popular among our growing army of fans.
This CD is a live recording -- no overdubs, just play-it-''til-its-right, on stage rock and roll! We are back in our rehearsal studio working on tracks for album number two, which include several tracks for a nationally-televised sports event airing in Winter 2009.
