Capitalist Machine is made up of two musician songwriters that are dedicated to writing music that helps bring attention and understanding to important social issues. Kevin Shaw and Kevin Ward are also the promoters of their music. Their long held beliefs in freedom and Democratic Principles run extremely deep, but they do not believe that "Capitalism" in the way that it is practiced today is in the best interest of the people. With songs like "Capitalist Machine", "Revolution 21" and Gangster for Peace their point is well taken. Of course, not all of their songs are political. The diversity of their music and lyrical content is what makes their music unique. Their "Baby-Boomer" MEETS "Generation X" style of Rock and Roll is what gives Capitalist Machine such wide audience appeal and cuts across generational boundaries. Their focus is to inform the people through the venue of music of the problems that all true citizens of the world should be concerned with. Too long have we been commercially inundated by strategically manufactured issues that only server to divert the public attention such as taxes, abortion, family values, social security, whose liberal, whose conservative. Politicians have been running on these same issues for decades with no results because they don''t want any.... These are their "SAFE" issues. They don''t want to take on real issues such as over population, Global Warming, Health care for all, energy concerns, Multinational corporate take over of governments, unequal distribution of wealth, global hunger, and weapons control world wide. These are some of the real issues that supersede all others and are in fact the reason why we have others. We need a new voice and Capitalist Machine wants their listeners to be that new voice, rather than let corporate politicians be that voice for them.
