ABOUT UNRAVELING HEART

In his sixth CD release, Unraveling Heart, Chuck Suchy continues a musical life journey displaying confidence, wisdom, age and experience.
In keeping with those ideals all tracks were the best of two or three live takes. Masterful arrangements and production by friend and colleague Peter Ostroushko correlate with the many faceted demeanor of the songs.
From reflection - “Soul Traveler” and “Faces Of Main Street” and lighthearted lark – “Oh Darlin” (written just prior to a live “A Prairie Home Companion” performance), “Burma shave Boogie”(a clever incorporation of the road sign slogans of the iconic American shaving cream) and “Muckerman”, Suchy embarks on a fanciful country sidestep with the likes of “Hold On” and “Cryin”.
Preparing for the youngest child’s leaving home (“Be With You”) and caring for aging parents (“Caregiver”) will resonate with all who find themselves longing to clarify and unravel their hearts.

Chuck Suchy Biography -Artist Information

Chuck Suchy’s folk music is traditional sounding but unique. His styles can two-step or toe tap straight to the heart, drifting through waters that reflect fresh views on older ways of life. He blends a captivating live performance with a steady guitar and voice that find good company within intertwined stories, themes, and ideals.

For over 30 years Suchy’s humble songs have built him a loyal and fun-loving audience throughout the US and into parts of Europe. What sets him apart is that he lives the songs - his hands are on the tractor steering wheel as much as they are on his guitar. These songs have graced many parts of the folk world such as: Winnipeg Folk Festival, Smithsonian Folklife Festival, Owen Sound Summerfolk, Stanfest (Nova Scotia) Kerrville Folk Festival , or sitting in on A Prairie Home Companion to name a few.

Acoustic Guitar Magazine proclaimed: "his mature voice hovers over the Great Plains like heat ripples above summer blacktop. This is country music with its fingers in the soil and its heart heading down the highway on an Indian motorcycle." Suchy’s achievements have also gotten the tip of the hat from the likes of: Acoustic Guitar Magazine, Folk Roots Magazine (UK), Dirty Linen Magazine, and the Boston Globe. Not to mention being tagged “one of the Great American songwriters” by Kerrville Folk Festival founder Rod Kennedy.

Despite the accolades, Suchy remains humble and difficult to categorize. He is a beacon of Midwest American farm life through his songs and stories, a diamond in the rough radiating tradition, spirit, wisdom, history, and humor, that ultimately compose; a keeper of culture.
