After studies with Alain Marion in Paris and James Pappoutsakis at the New England Conservatory of Music, flutist Angela Koregelos made her professional solo debut in London''s Wigmore Hall where the Times hailed "the freshness of her tone and the naturalness of her playing." She returned to the United States and became one of the youngest principal players of the Oakland Symphony where she was often featured as a soloist. She has performed and recorded with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and the Skywalker Symphony where she has participated in numberous projects for film and televison. She currently teaches flute and chamber music at Mills College, Oakland, and performs on a flute hand-made by her father.
Educated at Oxford University and the Royal Academy of Music, English pianist Zoe Smith is frequently in demand at home and abroad as a specialist in the flute repertoire. Through the auspices of the Stratford International Flute Festival and the UNAM Flute Festival in Mexico City, she has performed with a host of internationally acclaimed flutits, most notably with Alain Marion in the Sala Nezahualcoyotl (Mexico City) in April 1998. In addition, she plays harpsichord with the Mexican recorder virtuoso Horacio Franco. She enjoys working with singers, for which she receivd the 1993 Megan Foster Prize and the 1995 Ferdinand Rauter Award. Miss Smith currently serves as Assistnat to the Head of Music at the Welsh College of Music and Drama.
