Of all the song I have written, "Move" is my favorite so far. It is also the most effortless song I have ever written, and I think that comes through in this recording.
I turned on my recorder, improvised through it three times, and it was basically done. I slept on it for a night, put the finishing touches on it the following morning, and wha''la, it was finished. If only every song could be so painless.
A few days later, on a very rainy night, I went into the studio and recorded it while the song was at its freshest.
I later came to find out that my neighbor listened to me write it as she was soaking in a warm bath. I am pretty sure she in love with me.
