Details:
Glendale, AZ''s Lapse of Irony (LOI) is a modern female-fronted atmospheric and progressive rock/metal band. LOI self-released their debut 5-song EP "Between Dreams and Dread" currently sold online with the female-fronted distributor Sonic Cathedral and the independently owned CD Baby. Recently taking second place in the https://www.tradebit.com "Sunshine and Lollipops" contest has opened the door to the European market. They will be featured on a 5,000-copy sampler CD with Angtoria and Where Angels Fall. Internet radio has been catching on to the buzz and you can currently find LOI on Canada''s Metal Net Radio, America''s Metal Faction Radio, France''s Gotham Radio, and Britain''s The Autopsy Report. Locally, LOI has been featured on AZ Local Music, Collective Underground, Euphoric Productions, Slam Magazine, and Music Folio. LOI has already played with a very diverse set of national and local bands including Radiation 4, Look What I Did, The Great Redneck Hope, In Absentia, Keddah, Bleeding Kansas, Red Tear Memory, Animosity, Rising Conviction, L.A.O., 6am Eternal, And the Hero Fails, Kill the Last Hour, Deciding Tonight, Split the Enemy, and Resist the Embrace.

LOI consists of Bethany Franz (vocals), Matt Turkington (drums), Chip Franz (guitar), Angelino Wood (guitar), Rich Van Leeuwen (bass), and Winter Wood (keyboards). In the fall of 2002, long-time friends and guitarists Justin Gersey and Chip decided to form a female-fronted atmospheric rock band. Bethany responded to a local Internet want ad in December and "tried out", immediately impressing the two. After an extensive search for a drummer, Matt was discovered in spring of 2003 and the group began to write music as a four-piece. Justin recorded and produced LOI''s debut three-song demo in the fall of 2003. All of this was done without a bassist; so another exhausting member search took place. Bob Bryant (ex-Summer Dying) answered the call and LOI was now a fully functioning five-piece. The group began playing local shows and gaining a reputation as something unique and exciting. In the winter of 2003-04 the five wrote for the "Between Dreams and Dread" EP. Spring of 2004, the group enlisted with the talents of local producer extraordinaire Cory Spotts (Greeley Estates, Desole, Goodbye Tomorrow). Six instruments and multiple tracks per instrument were recorded and produced in a stunning 24 hours. Cory mastered the EP shortly thereafter; the group believes he did an excellent job of capturing the sound and mood of their music. In summer of 2004, Justin decided to step down as guitarist. Once again, another long search ensued and Angelino (ex-Estun-Bah) joined the group. LOI began writing new material and continued playing local shows. Bob stepped down as bassist in winter of 2004-05 and Rich (ex-Imperiled Earth) picked up where he left off. Deciding to pursue a full-time keyboard player, Winter was recruited in spring of 2005. Now as a 6-piece and with a solid and steady line-up, LOI feel they have matured musically and will surprise a lot of people with their new material. Expect the progressive elements and mood of the EP, but also a new added heaviness and complexity.
