Lauren Cregor''s inimitable mix of deep musicality and electric personality has been lighting up the NYC music scene for over two years. A natural storyteller, she hooks the imagination with vivid lyrics, infectious melodies, and a soulful voice.
Within her first six months as a songwriter, she wrote and produced her debut album, Mean Little Fingers (2002) - awarded ''Best Up and Coming 2002'' from NUVO. She then began exploring the world of commissioned music, creating scores for Waterwell Productions'' off-Broadway shows Fuenteovejuna and Stuck; as well as Settonsun Productions'' nationally aired documentary Dinerama.
Her second album, No Time For Shy, was released in May 2004 and debuted at the time-honored club FEZ in NYC. It contains nine tracks of Lauren''s signature jazz-pop style. A graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and Indiana University, she has studied piano, voice and theatre under the likes of David Baker, Penny Cherns (UK) and Robin Peet (Indianapolis).
