The Extremely Short Version: Drowning Girl, the band formerly known as Hill, formed in Toronto in 2006. This independent rock outfit is a unique collaboration between multi-instrumentalists/songwriters/producers David Paoli and Hill Kourkoutis, who initially lent her name to the band. The band continues to expand and develop their own unique brand of rock ''n'' roll through touring as a four piece. They have played shows and festivals across Canada and the United States, and in the Fall of 2006 toured in support of their independent release “Bang”. Drowning Girl has shared the stage with fellow Toronto band-friends The Cliks, Tara Slone, Hunter Valentine and Serena Ryder, to name a few. They are the recent winners of Radio Star (National Songwriting Competition) for their song "Dead or Alive" in Canada.
