Details:
Dwight P. Crichton born in Jamaica, West Indies. He was raised in England eventually emigrating to the United States with his parents and two younger brothers. He played in the American Soccer League (one of the early U S professional leagues that is now defunct) for about two seasons with the Boston Astros but was cut from the team over Sabbath observance issues.
Dwight holds a BFA in painting from Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA in painting from Howard University. Taught a variety of art courses at the Art Institute of Atlanta, Kennesaw State University, and Atlantic Union College, specializing in painting and drawing. He also served as Athletic Director and Coach of men''s soccer.
Early in his teenage years Dwight pursued his desire to learn guitar and eventually developed a strong interest in song writing. As he experimented with song writing he gained the greatest satisfaction from the material he created that reflected his developing faith experience. Some years later Dwight took a studio production class in anticipation of giving his work permanence and making it readily available to interested listeners.
The musical influences from which songs in this project are crafted are diverse and eclectic, the anticipation being that the perspectives he has presented will be counted with the perspectives of those who labor in creating and disseminating music that expresses and exposes the diversity of Christian experience.
Over the years Dwight has performed his original compositions in a variety of venues in places like Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, Toronto, Georgia, and Tennessee. He looks forward to continuing this as he promotes this new project.
Among his diversions Dwight lists vegetarian cuisine, working out, soccer, reading, and a good night’s sleep.
