Background
Hailing from Detroit, Eddie is internationally known as one of the most prolific bass players in the industry. Early musical influences include classical piano as a youth, with additional studies under Ernest Rogers and Earl Van Dyke. His musical style was influenced by sounds like Motown, The Beatles and Sly and the Family Stone.
Performance
His soulful and hard driving bass licks have supported such R & B classic recordings as: Dan Hartman''s "I Can Dream About You", The Pointer Sister''s "Automatic", Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive”. You will also hear him on soulful ballads such as Pattie Austin''s "Come to Me" and Billy Preston’s “With You I’m Born Again”.
Eddie has played on a number of gold and platinum albums, including movie sound tracks and television theme songs. While he made his name as a bass player and composer/producer, his singing talent is indescribable you can hear it for yourself in the enclosed CD. Eddie toured for two years with the Jazz Crusaders.
Composing/Producing
Eddie wrote and produced five songs on the Platinum Motown album “Message from the Boys“.
Current Work
Eddie was a member of the band and solo performer at the 2007 and 2008 UCSL Asilomar Conference and a performer at the 2008 RSI Asilomar Conference and the 2007 Gathering of UCSL in Kansas City. He was recently nominated for a POSI award.
Eddie has been invited as a solo artist to spiritual centers throughout the United States. He holds the position of music coordinator at the Spiritual Life Center in Las Vegas.
Eddie has been a bass player all of his life beginning with Motown in Detroit and is an excellent sight-reader. He also plays piano and guitar. Eddie provides charts that have been called “impeccable” and can also provide professionally mixed sound tracks.
Eddie’s thoughts: “The greatest blessings in my life are combining my spiritual path with my music and hearing that it lifts those who hear it, a loving relationship with family and the ongoing development of seeing God in everything and everyone.”
Although Eddie has enjoyed success in his professional musical career, the sharing of the music from both CD’s is the highlight of his life. He says, “I finally know exactly what I am supposed to be doing the rest of my life; sharing the gift of this music”.
