MUSIC & BACKGROUND
Eric''s music is nostalgic for traditional country with many similarities to the Honky tonk style of George Straight and Alan Jackson. Eric''s spent his growing up years on the rural lakes of North and Central Florida. But when he moved to Alabama when he was eighteen he didn''t forget his roots which reach back five generations to Florida''s territorial times; some of his songs reflect how he feels about the effects of change within the state.

His passion for music and writing began at the end of old docks on country lakes like the Merritt''s Mill Pond in Marianna and Cresent Lake and Lake Holden in Central Florida. He''d fish until they wouldn’t bite anymore then pick up a pad and pencil and write for hours. He was about nine when his grandmother heard his songs and noticed his ear for music. She gave him the same fiddle her father had given her as a little girl on a farm in South Georgia.

When Eric''s interest in the fiddle began fading the only thing that kept his grandmother''s heart from breaking was an old upright piano at the lake. It had finally been tuned and when Eric began to play a song he heard in church without any sheet music his grandmother and the rest of the family rushed inside to make the discovery. Ever since that day he''s been writing and playing the keyboard and now continues to improve on the guitar. He hopes to tackle the fiddle and steel next.
