ABOUT THE EP TRACKS
“Strange love” is the personal search revealed. Steps are retraced and pain is turned into strength. A vibrant piano carries the voice into a great stroke arrangement and then throws it into the houseful of powerful sounds that is the refrain.
“Go away” is about daring vulnerability. It gently pokes fun at that particular breed of morning madness; crazy hair, and a P. J. Harvey live performance stuck in one ear and Kate Bush in other, although you sense that her tongue is that of a native citizen of Indie land.
“Don’t look back” is an energetic flirt with the punk generation. It says “Don’t look back with sad bruised eyes, continue ahead without fear”. The sound is happy and relaxed, but swift- a true festival tune. Everything is there, the upbeat song, the out of control electric cello, rock guitar solo, and the dancing-all-night-long-spirit.
”Songbirds” is bare feet and heart on a sandy strand in Goa. Tickling strings of a naked guitar and sand covered drums join forces just for the sake of exposing hope for everyone to see.
BIOGRAPHY
Behind the stage name Royal Sister is Marie Glad. Her sound is tense, confessional, and piercing in every sense. Marie Glad started writing her own music year 2005. She had enrolled in music school the year before and the feeling of finally finding her own voice pushed her to continue singing and writing. After a number of solo projects and band constellations she started the band Royal Sister in 2008. She is the engine behind the songs, a band leader and lead vocals of Royal Sister. The production is driven by Marie Glad herself under her own company with the same name – “Royal Sister” and with support from the band members, the producer Daniel Axén and the artist Iva Troj.
