The Longest Night, the new live CD from Cincinnati, Ohio''s Len''s Lounge recorded live on Winters Eve, 2003 in Jack Quinn''s Emerald Ballroom in Covington, Kentucky, represents 12 years of Len''s Lounge songs. Live staples like "After Image" and "Whirl" finally see the light of release and there are a couple of new tunes as well.

"The disc captures Len''s Lounge "in stride," according to Roberson. With Mick Stapleton of The Stapletons on drums and Ben Doepke of Homunculus sitting in on keyboards, Roberson says The Longest Night represents "a signal of intent that Len''s Lounge is turning back to a little bit more Rock & Roll."
Roberson says that, as a fan of the medium, he''s excited to have a live album added to the LL canon.
"I love live CDs, always have," he says. "They seem to have fallen from favor on the critical level, but I love the make that happens that you don''t intend on happening -- the oblique spontaneity and the risk.
Music for me is ultimately a document of time and place, and the live recording is a literal illustration of that."
The Longest Night embodies the aesthetics of Len''s Lounge: edgy, a little rough around the edges, and passionate music that moves you to the core.
