This album represents years of collaboration between me, Elvis, and Steve DeCaro. I wrote and Steve helped to record all of the songs on Godzilla. Steve did Lead Guitar, bass and drums on most of it. If sounds really cool, that’s Steve. My contribution was the writing, some bass, and some rhythm guitar. My brother Ken Salyer helped out with background vocals and contributed a guitar to the title track Godzilla. There is a great variety of songs on here; from Surf rock, to rock, to country, to country punk, and even a polka song (Porno Polka). One of the songs (The Wild Wild East) was written to bridge the gap between the poor suckers, like me, who served during Vietnam, and the new poor suckers who are giving all or a major portion of their lives to Afghanistan and Iraq (oh so sad). Another song, Debutantes, was written for a good friend of mine who was going to form her own all girl punk rock band. “What do you do?”, is a weird country puck number that wrote itself one night. There is a great variety here, you’re bound to find at least a couple of songs that sound new and that you like. Less than 10 bucks for 15 new, original songs is a heck of a deal.
