It all began through an introduction of a mutual friend where Corey Clark, aka “Habitat”, and Kedesh Gray, aka “Nyce”, would embark on a long term friendship. Since that day back in 2004 these two guys linked to become a dynamic duo in music. All the while, years later, on the other side of town, two employees realized they had something in common. Erika Moore and Terrilyn Allgood decided to hook up and make a mix cd. They put their ideas together and bought some studio equipment to bring reality to their dreams.
In spring 2007, previously laid off, Erika was instructed to go to the unemployment office to fax her resume. Unsure on how to use the machine she asked for help. She noticed the appearance and accent of the young gentleman and inquired where he was from. He introduced himself as “Nyce a producer from California”. He spoke on how he was dropping his music partners cd, and around the corner came “Tat” aka “Habitat” from New York. Corey aka “Habitat” was not only a songwriter but a producer as well. Erika informed the two men she too was an aspiring producer, songwriter, and artist from St. Louis who was currently working with one the Tennessee’s best female rappers, Terrilyn aka “Tee” who is a songwriter and aspirant producer. Nyce and Erika exchanged numbers for music purposes.
When the four finally started working together the first song they did was “Against All Odds”. Realizing the talent and different styles each person brought to the table, they decided to join and start their own record label, “Swagg Siti”. After noticing the West Coast sound that Kedesh aka “Nyce” had, the East Coast storytelling emcee of Corey aka “Habitat”, the Dirty South Swagg Terrilyn aka “Tee” brings, and the Midwest Flavor that Erika rendered was the best way to promote their label. They then at that point decided to make a group “One World” and produce an album.
This fantastic four is a determined and eager group ready to take on and earn their place in the music industry. All together some of their influences are Tupac, Common, Outkast, Missy Elliott, MC Lyte, Johnny J, D-Block, India Arie, and all the real emcees from the 80’s and early 90’s. Following in the foot steps of these great artist, they will surly bring themselves much success in their future endeavors.
