Martin Hannah is a new name in Scottish music. Influenced by the likes of John Foxx/Ultravox, New Romantics, Lisa Loeb, Pink Floyd and Duran Duran. This in its self goes some way to explaining the texture of ‘Dark Heart’, which is simplistically and intentionally lo-fi. Martin finds comfort in the analogue and the digital of sound and lives somewhere in between. Many of the tracks on ‘Dark Heart’ chart a very difficult period in Martin’s personal life, difficult but highly creative. Martin is openly gay and aligns himself with Eto and Brannan as contemporaries
