At 5''2", with eyes of blue and a guitar to match, Madison, WI singer-songwriter LIS HARVEY is one of the youngest and fastest-moving players on the contemporary American folk scene. An honest performer with a tendency to spill at the mouth, Harvey packs all the energy of a whistling teapot into her songs, ripping through tales of city folk, country folk, and strange folk as though she were living them on-stage. Her "intellicoustic" guitar and wry, witty lyrics bounce between modern folk and alternative-pop rock, setting fire to expectation. Already, Harvey has been singled out by the nationally syndicated radio program Acoustic Cafe as "One to Watch" in 2002, and showcased at the prestigious NeMO Music Conference in 2001. Her music can be heard nationally and internationally, on scores of college, community, and NPR-affiliate radio stations.
Harvey''s world-record setting Fifty State Tour (August-October, 2002) garned much attention in the national media. Her love for "extreme touring" landed the energetic Harvey on CNN, CNN Headline News, Ripley''s Believe It Or Not, and several National Public Radio shows. Harvey is the first solo musician to ever tour the 50 US states in 60 days or less.
Harvey has opened for Melissa Ferrick, Louise Taylor, Michael McDermott, Jerry Joseph & the Jackmormons, and many others who span a broad range of musical styles and flavors.
